Gifts of Love
ABHAYA has had wonderful and generous sponsors. In 1994, a respectable Namboodiri family from Central Kerala, chose to donate their house, Perumpalliyazhatu mana to ABHAYA. This was an overwhelming expression of love, trust and kindness on the part of Smt. Parvathi Antharjanam and Sri. Krishnan Nambiathiri, her son. The mana is a fine example of traditional Kerala architecture and was translocated in Abhayagramam in 1995.The mana is now the nerve centre of Abhayagramam.
Gifts of Love
SHANTI, a supprt group from US which was always helping Abhaya has built a spacious annexe for Athani. It is now a prestigious centre of Abhaya which can help, support and give refuge to 100 women at a time.
Sri. G.B.Pillai of K&M International Ltd., Ohio, USA has kindly built a beautiful home for the girls of Abhayabala.
Athani, the home for women, now functions in Beith Kalyan at Vachiyoor Trivandrum. It is a house in the city generously gifted to Abhaya by the Late Omana Amma of Melethil House, Trivandrum.
ABHAYA is lucky to have several generous friends in India and abroad who support us on a regular basis and who help us function efficiently.
The National Fund for Rural Development of the Government of India helped ABHAYA to buy 10.5 acres of land in the outskirts of Thiruvananthapuram city. This land now houses some of the institutions functioning under ABHAYA.
It is with grants sanctioned by the Government of India and Central Social Welfare Board that we meet part of the expenses of ABHAYA.
We have an Abhaya Welfare Board Fund. This includes an education fund, Vidyanidi, to help children from needy families through school and colleges, Abhaya Mangalya – to help resettle girls to matrimony and domestic life and a Health Fund. Your generous donations will enhance the fund and help us to carry out these objectives. Kindly specify in what manner you would like us to utilize your contribution.
ABHAYA sponsors the education of needy students who do not necessarily stay at Abhayalaa or Athani. A doctor, few engineers, nurses and a number of graduates are among those who have benefited from Vidyanidi. Many have got jobs in various capacities. Girls doing undergraduate and postgraduate courses are receiving full aid from the fund.
We have a large number of friends and well wishers who give us financial help and moral support by way of clothes, food, accessories and outings. We cannot thank them enough for their support.
These expressions of care make us even more aware of the need to be committed to the cause for which ABHAYA was born and which ABHAYA stands for.
