A memorable event for our Institution about many years down the lane; about which an article was published in leading Malayalam daily - Malayala Manorama and how it turned memorable...

“Mandakkad, part of old Southern Travancore” where massive Tsunami waves swallowed the shallow shores the Abhaya volunteers had reached out for rescue operations.

From the scattered skeletons of a shattered small house on the coast they brought a treasure.

Soaked, draggled in soil and tampered they got it; a blue covered notebook

From the soiled first page I figured out its owner’s name in smudged ink and then notes on pages jotted in English and more in Tamil, some calculations, figures all soaked and smudged.

G. Manikandan

3rd Electronics and Computer

We got help to get this published on newspaper and miraculously was able to trace lost Manikanda

With praises to God, whole heartedly everyone around welcomed Manikanda and had the Legendary poet Sugadakumari gift his blue covered notebook that helped him get back home.

Abhaya extended all support to accomplish his Engineering degree from Anna University and also pursued a computer course at Abhaya after which he got into a job in Chennai

Escaped from the black Sunday of Tsunami Manikanda and his family has revived and today he works as an engineer at Technopark
